Sure, we all have our widescreen LCD and/or Plasma televisions, but as cool as they are in height and width, there's still one dimension left to be conquered. And Hitachi's done it. Their appropriately named Wooo brand of Ultra Thin TVs are all 1.5 inches thick.
Wooo TVs have been available in Japan for a little while, but Hitachi plans to bring the thinness stateside early next year with a 768p 32" model and 1080p 37" and 42" models. Sadly, they're dropping the "Wooo" for the American market in favor of a to-be-determined brand name that can't possibly be nearly as fun to say out loud.
Hitachi isn't releasing specs or a price list for these things yet, but they do note that Ultra Thins are "designed for a highly affluent and refined segment of consumer." Translated from the Japanese, it'll cost you a couple of nickels.
Translated to the SquareTrade, that's an investment you should protect.
